Leme Beach
Leme Beach is located beside the beach of Copacabana, Leme, a neighborhood in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and often the boundary between these two beaches go unnoticed, causing the Leme beach is seen by many as just an extension of Copacabana Beach.
Frequented mostly by neighborhood residents, the Leme beach reflects the tranquility of the neighborhood of Leme, which borders the neighborhoods of Copacabana, Botafogo and Urca.
The population living in the neighborhood of Leme itself more than 15,000 people, mainly upper-middle class. It is in this neighborhood that was located Meridian hotel, famous for the spectacle with fireworks cascade that promoted during the new year. The neighborhood is also frequently the scene of many sporting events, with emphasis called "Crossing the Strong".
The name of Leme beach, and the name of the neighborhood, has its origin in Leme Stone. When viewed from above, this stone has a format very similar to the rudder of a ship.
